The classic British design house Laura Ashley opened its first boutique hotel in an old English manor house. It is designed in the company’s latest interiors collection, allowing guests to buy décor items to furnish their own homes.
Cozy yet elegant signature style
Every room in the luxury 49-bedroom The Manor hotel in Elstree, Hertfordshire was designed using the company’s latest interiors collection.
The new hotel just outside on London, is an old Tudor revival estate dating back to 1540 with 49 bedrooms on 10 acres.
Each room has a different design with the brand’s luxury yet comfortable signature style.
Along with high-design interiors, the hotel has a fine dining restaurant, Cavendish, the Terrace Bar, wedding facilities, and a huge garden chess set.
Experience English lifestyle home offering
Laura Ashley says it attempted to retain many of the original features of the estate, such as the front door, which was originally part of the dungeon at Lewes Castle.
Room costs starts at $230 for a standard bedroom and go up to almost $800 for its premium suites.
It is the first time that the retailer has ventured into the hotel industry.
A company spokesperson said, “We believe that we have created a lifestyle destination for guests to escape to for a quiet weekend getaway, for local residents to come for an afternoon tea or dinner party, and for international tourists who wish to experience a quintessential English lifestyle home offering.”
