Hollywood stars and filmmakers from different parts of the world meet again at Cannes Film Festival for a heavy lineup of international films. Organizers of the world’s most important cinema showcase announced the films to enter this year’s festival.
According to the festival’s artistic director, Thierry Fremaux, 1,858 films entered the festival, but only 19 made it to compete for the coveted Palme d’Or award. This year’s lineup will be full of surprises and newfound discoveries among rising and veteran stars and filmmakers. Some of the films competing for the top prize of the world’s biggest film festival include the French adaptation of “Venus in Fur” and the HBO original “Behind the Candelabra,” among others.
