Annie James, a 14-year-old teenager from Baytown, Texas, gave a parking ticket to a cop after his patrol car was parked illegally in her neighborhood. She even got a reward for keeping the cop in line.
A Taste of His Own Medicine
James issued a handwritten $10 parking ticket to police officer Tommy King after parking his patrol car in a fire zone in the Bay Oaks apartment complex. Annie told KPRC-TV, “He was parked on the side of the building and it was a fire lane all the way around.”
“I came to my car and I saw a piece of paper on my windshield. I took it off and opened it and read it and I started laughing immediately,” office King said.
Cop Made a Friend
The handwritten note says that Officer King needs to pay $10 to the manager of her apartment complex. King stated, “I thought it was neat that she made that for $10 but not to herself.”
The surprise is he didn’t only pay the fine, he even gave little Annie a $40 gift card to Toys R Us.
King further added, “Turns out we’re both from Alabama and end up in Texas. It’s interesting … I made a friend. A lesson would be not to be shy or afraid of law enforcement. We’re here to help.”
