EA Sports’ 15-year relationship with world’s No. 1 golfer Tiger Woods has ended. In the company’s blog post, it announced it will no longer use Woods’ name on its golf video game.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14, which was released earlier this year and was the 16th title featuring his name, makes it the final Tiger Woods game, and answers rumors that Tiger Woods 15 had been cancelled.
EA Sports confirmed that they have “made a mutual decision” to end their relationship, while also revealing their next generation golfing ambitions.
Moving forward, they said that they’re working on a new approach that will allow them to deliver the best golf experience, making the best technologies across EA.
Golf video games are going to look different now, but EA Sports stated it would continue to work with the PGA Tour and develop golf titles.
“We had an incredible run,” Wood’s representative said in a statement. “But times are changing and EA had to re-evaluate the partnership and frankly so did we.”
This concludes a successful partnership that helped boost both brands and enhance the cool factor of the sport.
